Village of Metamora Board of Trustees met December 3

Village of Metamora Board of Trustees met Dec. 3.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees for the Village of Metamora was called to order at 7:04 PM.

Village Clerk, Bylle Long, called the roll call. Present were: Mayor Pro-Tem: Nauman

Trustees: Kamm, Schierer and Weyeneth

Mayor Maurer is home recovering from surgery and Trustees Hutchens and Cummings were absent.

Those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

Minutes of the regular meeting held November 19, 2019, were reviewed. Trustee Kamm made a motion to approve the Minutes with Trustee Weyeneth seconding. With a vote of 4 yeas and 0 nays, the motion passed.

The Warrant List was reviewed. Trustee Kamm made a motion to approve the List with Trustee Schierer seconding. With a vote of 4 yeas and 0 nays, the motion passed.

Recognize Guests/Public Comment

There were none.

Mayor’s Report

The schedule for the 2020 Board meeting dates was reviewed. Only two (2) dates are adjusted for conflicting election dates, otherwise, all are the first and third Tuesdays of every month.

Trustee Schierer made a motion to approve the schedule and Trustee Kamm seconded. With a vote of 4 yeas and 0 nays, the motion passed.

Attorney’s Report

Attorney Brunton presented the following for approval:

1. 2019 Tax Levy Ordinance:

After a short discussion, Trustee Weyeneth made a motion to approve the Levy with Trustee Kamm seconding. With a vote of 4 yeas and 0 nays, the motion passed.

2. Annexation Ordinance for Acquired Village Property (135+ Acres of Farmland) Trustee Weyeneth made a motion approve the Ordinance with Trustee Kamm seconding. With a vote of 4 yeas and 0 nays, the motion passed.

3. Ordinance Updating Cannabis Possession & Drug Paraphernalia Possession in Village Code.

After a short discussion, it was decided to present this Ordinance to Police Chief Rebman for his review before the Board took action.

Engineer’s Report

There was no report.

Treasurer’s Report

There was no report.

Public Works Department

Discussion was held on the need to replace the panel at the North Pump Station. Trustee Schierer made a motion to approve the replacement in the amount, not to exceed $12,000.00. The motion was seconded by Trustee Weyeneth and with a vote of 4 yeas and 0 nays, the motion passed.

Discussion was held for approval of the crane truck repairs. Trustee Schierer made a motion to approve the repairs in the amount, not to exceed $3000.00. The motion was seconded by Trustee Kamm and with a vote of 4 yeas and 0 nays, the motion passed.

Discussion was held regarding the purchase of two (2) rough tablets for the work trucks. Trustee Weyeneth made a motion to approve the purchase in the amount, not to exceed $7000.00, with Trustee Kamm seconding. With a vote of 4 yeas and 0 nays, the motion passed.

Discussion was held regarding the issue with the golf course not paying for the raw water usage according to their contract with the Village. It was reported that a conversation was held with the golf courses’ accountant who agreed the past due monies should be paid, but it was decided to have all parties meet and review the contract for the future needs of the golf course.

Police/Fire/ESDA

Trustee Kamm made a motion to approve repairs on the seized vehicle (VW Jetta) in the amount, not to exceed $1600.00. The vehicle will then be used by the school resource officer. Trustee Schierer seconded and with a vote of 4 yeas and 0 nays, the motion passed.

Trustee Kamm made a motion to approve the bid from Ragan Communications for radio equipment for the Fire Dept. at a cost, not to exceed $16,000.00. Trustee Weyeneth seconded the motion and with a vote of 4 yeas and 0 nays, the motion passed.

There was no report.

There were no requests.

Adjourn

With no more to discuss, Trustee Kamm made a motion to adjourn with Trustee Weyeneth seconding. With a vote of 4 yeas and 0 nays, the motion passed and the meeting adjourned at 7:51 PM.
