Motion and second were made by Aldermen Ryan Mayhew/Quin Mayhew to waive the rules for the second reading of the ordinance.

The motion carried.

Motion and second were made by Aldermen Ryan Mayhew/Quin Mayhew to approve the purchase of the heavy rescue truck with the amount not to exceed $15,000.00 and the transportation cost not to exceed $10,000.00. The funds will come from the contingency fund for fire apparatus- which is fund #001-00-11252.

MAYOR COMMUNICATION

Former Police Chief Robert Molleck passed away and the family will be holding a ceremony in Canton later this year.

State Trooper Robert Runyan passed away this week.

The 4th of July Fireworks will be held in Canton. The stadium will be locked to help ensure social distancing. People can sit in their yards while practicing social distancing. A special thank you to Mid America Bank and Graham Hospital for donating funds to make this year’s firework display possible.

MOTION and second were made by Aldermen Nelson/Angela Lingenfelter to adjourn without the need for executive session.

The motion carried by voice vote and was unanimous.
