Chillicothe Public Library District Board met June 4.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

1. Call to Order – The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by President Sue Mowbray.

a. Present – Carmen Jenkins, Jane Harrison, Debbie Hill, Shayne Jezek, Sue Mowbray, Judi Thornton, and Mary Aylmer

b. Absent – Patty Audo

2. Public Comments – There were no citizens that sought to be recognized.

3. Unfinished Business

a. Reopening Plan –

The board had discussion about continuing to operate the library in Phase 2– Curbside Service. A motion was made by Judi Thornton to continue with Phase 2 – Curbside Service and to eliminate the paragraph (Emergency pay stops June 8th. Employees can redeem Vacation or Personal time to keep paychecks whole through Phase 6 of the plan.) and Mary will call a special meeting when the library is ready to move to Phase 3 – Limited Services OR should the library need to move back to Phase 1 – Staff only. The motion was seconded by Jane Harrison. All voted in favor.

4. Board Comments – Mary received the Fifth Amendment for the purchase of 822 N. Second Street. The document requires two signatures which will be taken care of by Debbie Hill and Judi Thornton. Our attorney will then have the paperwork recorded with the Peoria County Clerk as soon as possible. This extends the property for another three years. (2023)

5. Announcements – There were no announcements.

6. Adjournment – A motion was made by Carmen Jenkins to adjourn at 6:06 p.m. The motion was seconded by Jane Harrison. All voted in favor.
