Akron-Princeville Fire Protection District responded to 42 calls in 2018 - 20 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Akron-Princeville included 33 fires - 14 structure fires, two vehicle fires and 17 other fires.

In all, the department saw $1,802 in fire loss - or about $55 per fire.

The department also received nine false calls.

The Akron-Princeville Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $201,093 in 2018.
