Henry FPD responds to 28 fires in 2018

Henry Fire Protection District responded to 40 calls in 2018 - 53.8 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Henry included 28 fires - 15 structure fires and 13 other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $94,700 in fire loss - or about $3,382 per fire.

The department also received 10 false calls.

The Mchenry Township Firefighters Pension Fund, which has four active employees and one retired or inactive employee, was $311,279 positive as of April 2017, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $14,823 for every fire in 2017.
