Bradley University Athletics issued the following announcement on Sept. 6
Dante Brigida converted a penalty kick in the 65th minute and host Oral Roberts held Bradley without a shot on goal as the Golden Eagles (3-1-0) earned a 1-0 non-conference win against the Braves (1-2-0) Monday afternoon at Case Soccer Complex.
Brigida's game-winner was set up from consecutive corner kicks for Oral Roberts. As the Braves attempted to clear the second corner, an Oral Roberts player was upended going up for a header near the the top of the box, resulting in the penalty kick opportunity. The left-footed Brigida caught Bradley keeper Bryce Logan leaning toward the left post and he buried a low shot just inside the right post for the 1-0 lead at 63:48.
Logan came up with four saves on the day, stopping the other four shots on goal from ORU, which finished the game with a 13-8 advantage in shots.
After playing two games in five days in Dayton, Ohio and Tulsa, Okla., Bradley returns home for a weekend home stand at Shea Stadium, beginning with a 7 p.m. clash against in-state rival DePaul Friday. The Braves will play their final non-conference tuneup Sunday by hosting Utah Valley in a 1 p.m. kickoff.
