City of Eureka City Council met Sept. 20.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
The Eureka City Council convened in regular session at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Eric Lind called the meeting to order and after a moment of silence led The Pledge of Allegiance and then directed the City Clerk to call the roll. Present were Aldermen Chambliss, Germann, L. Klaus, Logan, Peterson, Teegarden and Wilson. Aldermen Williams was absent. Also in attendance were Treasurer Lynn Hinnen, City Services Director Melissa Brown and Deputy Chief Kim Jones.
Moved by Germann, second by Wilson, to approve the minutes of the September 7, 2021, regular meeting of the City Council. Passed on roll call vote with Aldermen Germann, Wilson, Chambliss, L. Klaus, Logan, Peterson and Teegarden all voting Aye.
Moved by Teegarden, second by Peterson, to approve the Treasurer’s Report for the month ending August 31, 2021. Passed on roll call vote with Aldermen Teegarden, Peterson, Chambliss, Germann, L. Klaus, Logan and Wilson all voting Aye.
The Mayor asked for public comments on any action to be taken on Agenda items. There were none.
Moved by Chambliss, second by L. Klaus, to approve and pay the bills as the City’s obligation in the amount of $50,961.37. Passed on roll call vote with Aldermen Chambliss, L. Klaus, Germann, Logan, Peterson, Teegarden and Wilson all voting Aye.
Moved by Teegarden, second by Wilson, to approve exceptions to our noise ordinance for Eureka High School Homecoming On October 2 from 8-11 p.m. This will be outside this year due to COVID. It will be held at the Middle School. Passed on roll call vote with Aldermen Teegarden, Wilson, Chambliss, Germann, L. Klaus, Logan and Peterson all voting Aye.

Chairman Chambliss of the Budget Committee: No report
Chairman Chambliss of the Administration and Personnel Committee: No report
Chairman Teegarden of the Enterprise Committee: No report
Chairman Peterson of the Maintenance Committee: No report
Chairman L. Klaus of the Public Safety Committee: No report
Chairman Germann of the Park and Recreation Committee: This committee will be October 4 at 6 p.m. to consider the 2022 special events scheduled at Eureka Lake Park.
Chairman Teegarden of the Economic Development & Tourism Committee: No report
Chairman Mayor Lind of the Liquor Committee: This committee met this evening and approved a special one-day permit for a bar cart at Eureka College Homecoming on October 2.

Mayor Lind thanked Melissa for the time she has spent inquiring about and applying for many grants for different things for the City. She reported that we are moving forward with the FEMA Grant for the flood wall to protect buildings at the Sewer Plant.
There being no further business to come before the Council the meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
