Report: South Pekin School District spent $10,406 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at South Pekin School District 137 was up 32.1 percent from five years ago, according to the Peoria Standard analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Tazewell County school district spent $7,880 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,406 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 247 to 200 students over the same period.

South Pekin's spending in 2019-20 was 28.2 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
