Report: Pekin School District spent $10,463 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Pekin Public School District 108 was up 9.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Peoria Standard analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Tazewell County school district spent $9,543 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,463 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 3,668 to 3,479 students over the same period.

Pekin's spending in 2019-20 was 27.8 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
