Mason County Board met June 14.

Proceedings of a meeting of the County Board of Mason County, a meeting begun and held at the Mason County Courthouse located at 125 N. Plum, Havana, IL. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Kenneth Walker. Roll call was taken with the following members present: KENNETH WALKER, ELDON GARLISCH, ANTHONY GATHMAN, RONALD KNOLLENBERG,
DOROTHY KREILING, BILL PARSLEY and HUGH MCHARRY, seven being present and SCOTT GARLISCH being absent.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
MOTION: Parsley made a motion to approve the agenda as presented. Seconded by Gathman. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
MOTION: Kreiling made a motion to approve the minutes. Seconded by McHarry. Motion carried.
APPEARANCES:
Seth Lane, Mason County IT Director, spoke to the Board about integrating a new payroll system into the clerk’s office to better serve the employees. He also spoke to the board about new criteria involved with our cyber-security insurance.

COMMITTEE REPORTS
Dorothy Kreiling reported the following for Emergency Services Committee. The Health Department has walk-in clinics for boosters available with no appointment needed and they are also continuing to give away free at-home covid test kits. A Monkeypox vaccine will be available soon. In June, AED training will be offered through the dive team. Lastly a part-time Village of Bath chief has been hired.
County Engineer Mike Pedigo reported for the Road & Bridge Committee that the Quiver Creek bridge has opened. Mike Pedigo also reported that the Glacier Sands project will soon be seal coating the roads that they used.
County Clerk Summer Brown reported that Amanda Pankau, who is a representative from Illinois Prairie River, has set up a meeting with the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to discuss grant opportunities within coal transition and it will take place Wednesday at 9 am. Brown reported that resolutions to finalize the approval of bids for the Energy Savings Contract and the Mason County Detention Center Roof would be presented in the meeting. Brown also reported on the Energy Aggregation matter stating that an agreement was not met as Good Energy’s suppliers backed out. It will be revisited next year. Lastly, she stated that early voting for the June 28 General Primary has begun and the County Clerk office will also be open Saturday June 25 from 9-noon.
Sheriff Paul Gann also reported that Richard Crum is setting up cooling centers for EMA across the County.
RESOLUTION 2022-34 APPROVING JUDGES OF ELECTION FOR A TWO-YEAR TERM
The board then considered Resolution 2022-34 to Approve Judges of Election for a Two-Year Term. (see board file for resolution)
MOTION: Kreiling made a motion to approve Resolution 2022-34. Seconded by Parsley. Motion carried.
RESOLUTION 2022-35 APPROVING ARPA FUNDS FOR 2022 MACK GRANITE GR64F TANDEM AXLE DUMP TRUCK SALT SPREADER AND SNOW PLOW FOR THE COUNTY HIGHWAY OFFICE
The board then considered Resolution 2022-35 for Approval of ARPA Funds for 2022 Mack Granite GR64F Tandem Dump Truck Salt Spreader and Snow Plow for the County Highway Office. (see board file for resolution)

RESOLUTION 2022-36 APPROVING ARPA FUNDS FOR MASON COUNTY GUARANTEED ENERGY SAVINGS CONTRACT

RESOLUTION 2022-37 APPROVING RFP BID FROM AMERESCO, INC AND AUTHORIZING CHAIRMAN TO EXECUTE CONTRACT FOR MASON COUNTY GUARANTEED ENERGY SAVINGS CONTRACT
The Board then considered Resolution 2022-37 for Approval of the RFP Bid from Ameresco, Inc and Authorizing Chairman to Execute Contract for Mason County Guaranteed Energy Savings Contract. (see board file for resolution)

RESOLUTION 2022-38 APPROVING RFP BID FROM LEE’S SUPERIOR ROOFING AND AUTHORIZING CHAIRMAN TO EXECUTE CONTRACT FOR MASON COUNTY DETENTION CENTER ROOFING PROJECT
The Board then considered Resolution 2022-38 for Approval of the RFP Bid from Lee’s Superior Roofing and Authorizing Chairman to Execute Contract for Mason County Detention Center Roofing Project. (see board file for resolution)
MOTION: Gathman made a motion to approve Resolution 2022-38. Seconded by Kreiling. Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote.
