Braves Take Home Three Titles At Windy City Invitational
The first meet of the indoor track season is in the books for the Bradley Braves as they wrapped up their performance at the Windy City Invitational with three titles.
Sophomore Ivan Westcott wins two events in the first meet of the season, the Men's 800-meter race and the Men's 1-Mile race. Westcott set a personal best in the 1-mile race with a time of 4:16.65 to take the title. Sophomore Amiyah Davis won the women's 800-meter race with a time of 2:29.53.
Kelsey Dalton and Kyra Koontz also competed in the Women's 800-meter as Dalton finished third and Koontz in 12th.
In the Women's 400, senior Hannah Ivy led the Braves with a third place finish after a time of 57.84.
Freshman Robert Stan finished in fourth in the Men's 800, finishing five seconds behind Westcott.
Freshman Brock Rice clocked the third best time in the Men's 1 Mile at 4:20.49, just behind Westcott.
Junior Max McDaniel and sophomore Brandon Kamp both competed in the Men's 3000-meter race. McDaniel finished in second with a time of 8:47.36 and Kamp in fifth at 9:01.02.
Sophomore Peter-Shae Fuller competed in the Women's Long Jump event and took home second place with a distance of 5.49 meters.
There was one relay team that competed for Bradley on Friday afternoon with Ivy, Davis, Sierra Bryant and Leah Thames all ran together for a second place finish in the 4x400.
