Purpose:
M & T Commission - Purpose
Economic Development Director Beadles read the purpose of the commission. The purpose of the Chillicothe Area Marketing and Tourism Commission is to develop a comprehensive program designed to market the Chillicothe area and promote the growth of tourism within or near the city and submit the program to the city council for recommendation and approval. All programs shall be formulated and maintained by the use of funds received through the city's hotel/motel tax.
Report - 2022/2023 Budget Review & Hotel/Motel Revenue
Director Beadles reported $3,611.75 received from EconoLodge and $79.77 in interest. She reported Hotel tax income at 96$ and Interest at $2464%.
Report - 2023/2024 Budget
Director Beadles presented the 2023-2024 Budget for the Commission to review. Increases were added to the Downtown Thursday, Visitors Tri-fold and the Bald Eagle Days event. She reported the budget would be presented to the Economic Development Committee.
Discussion - 2023 Calendar of Events
Director Beadles presented the 2023 Calendar of Events and requested the Commission members to email her any additions. She presented a Brown County Community Activity Guide as a future example of a calendar. Discussion ensued. The consensus of the committee was to utilize larger/tourism related events for the printed/PDF calendar.
Report - 2022-12 Message Center Update
Director Beadles reported the January 2023 Message Center Messages.
SWOT Analysis Business Growth
The Commission reviewed the SWOT Analysis for Business Growth. Discussion ensued. Don White will compile Objectives.
SWOT Analysis Residential Growth
The Commission reviewed the SWOT Analysis for Residential. Discussion ensued. Opportunities had Apartments and 20-30 year-olds target market added to the section. Don White will compile Objectives.
Rotary Club of Chillicothe Request
Director Beadles submitted the Rotary Club of Chillicothe's request for $350 to promote the Eagle Watch Breakfast on February 11th. Discussion ensued. Director Beadles recused herself as she is the President of the Rotary Club. The consensus of the commission approved and to send to Economic Development Committee for approval. Town Theatre Request

Director Beadles submitted the Town Theatre request for $1,000 for promotion. Discussion ensued. The consensus of the commission approved and to send to Economic Development Committee for approval.
Organizations update, event marketing and tourism plans
Retail
PAVCB - Ashley discussed the partnership with WEEK for Friday EVENTS segments and replay on Saturday. She encouraged all to post their events on the Discover Peoria website so the events could be shared on the segment. She stated she needed additional events for the Events on Tap promotion.
Chamber - Don reported the next Chamber event as the Chocolate tour on February 11th.
Historical Society - Patti reported the Historical Society has a new board and Gary Fyke is the President. She stated there was no meetings in January and February.
Chillicothe Park District - Kevin was absent. No report.
Three Sisters Park - Nancie?
Blue Ridge Farm - Jim reported the fall concert series was being worked on and would be 3 Sunday's in September and 2 Sundays in October.
IVC-Kylie reported St. Jude Night is January 28, Special Olympics at CEC is Wednesday January 11th.
Pearce Community Center - Carie reported an indoor Triathlon March 4th and No initiation fee for the month of January.
Chillicothe Players Theatre - Denise reported Romance in D running 16-19, June 15-18 is Finding Nemo, August 24-37 is the Nerd.
