City of Lewistown City Council met Feb. 14.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The Lewistown City Council met in regular session in the council chambers. Mayor Douglas Lafary called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Invocation: Pastor Paul Walmsly

ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Alderperson Sally Clark, Jim Long, Brad Ward, Kendall Miller, Kim Pascal, John Spotloe and Mayor Doug Lafary. Also present: City Clerk Cindy Goddard, City Treasurer Debby Brown, Public Works Director Evinn Palmer, and Police Chief Merrill.

DECLARATION OF QUORUM by Mayor Doug Lafary

CLERKS REPORT/MINUTES: Cindy Goddard. No report.

Alderperson Long made a motion to approve the minutes of January 24, 2023, second by Alderperson Clark, the motion carried all ayes.

TREASURER'S REPORT: Debbie Brown. Treasurer report presented to council members.

ATTORNEY'S REPORT: Attorney Nathan Collins absent.

ENGINEER'S REPORT: Keith Plavec. No Engineer present.

PUBLIC COMMENTS AND PETITIONS: No comments.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Finance/Insurance/Zoning - Alderperson Clark: Nothing to report. Mayor wants a finance meeting set to discuss budget.

Sewer - Alderperson Spotloe: Public Works Director said they have been painting at Waste Water if anyone wants to look at it.

Streets & Allies - Alderperson Miller:

Alderperson Miller:

Nothing to report. Alderperson Clark said the alley behind the Catholic Church is nice and thanked street department.

Police/ESDA-Alderperson Ward: Nothing to report.

Water- Alderperson Miller: Nothing to report.

Utilities/Publications - Alderperson Long: Nothing to report.

Public Buildings & Grounds - Alderperson Long: Will table floor estimate at the Visitors Center at this time because getting another bid. Will be getting a bid on a vinyl floor covering.

Tourism - Alderman Pascal: Nothing, but Alderman Miller said that for Music in the Park there is a new logo, and the band lineup is done. Alderperson Clark said that regarding the 200th Anniversary of the County they are putting ideas together to have various activities during the year. Alderman Miller added that the VFW wants to have an Octoberfest this year for it.

Tax Increment Financing - Alderperson Spotloe: Nothing

Citizens Committee - Amanda Smith not present.

Christmas Committee - Kenny Haacke reminded everyone they are having a Christmas meeting at Countryside at 6:00 on Wednesday February 15. The Spaghetti supper is March 25.

WORKS DIRECTOR'S REPORT

Evinn Palmer Director said the leak locator guy

coming back to check leak at Lincoln and Main. Mayor Lafary said the demo paperwork is done for house on Main to be torn down, will put in budget to get that done.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

Discuss/Act Upon new floor in the Kitchen at Visitors Center, estimate from Clifton's Carpet Service - Table at this time.

NEW BUSINESS: None

PRESENTATION OF BILLS:

Alderperson Long made a motion to approve all bills properly endorsed; Seconded by Alderperson Clark roll call vote, the motion carried with all ayes.

CLOSED SESSION: No closed session

ADJOURNMENT:

Alderperson Spotloe made a motion to adjourn at 6:42 p.m.; Seconded by Alderperson Long motion carried all ayes.
