The city of Peoria is inviting residents to join in two virtual community forums on September 28th to review the draft Strategic Plan.

City staff began developing the Strategic Plan earlier this year.  Critical to the process was the input from the Mayor, City Council, staff members, and the community. Prior to the launch, Mayor Ali stated, “The success of our strategic planning lies in robust public input.” During the process, City staff have been focused on making sure that the Strategic Plan represents the voices, thoughts, and needs of the community.

The city has provided multiple engagement opportunities to the community.  Starting in June with the Community Kickoff Event and continuing through July, the peoria2023.org website, interviews with community members and staff, and in-person and virtual community forums welcomed the community to participate in the process.

During August and September, the Mayor, Council, and staff engaged in full-day planning sessions to draft the Strategic Plan. The thoughts and perspectives collected from the community were presented during these sessions and used to develop the plan.

No that a draft Strategic Plan has been developed, the community is invited to review the plan at one of the two virtual forums scheduled for September 28th. During these forums, attendees will have the opportunity to review and provide feedback on the draft Strategic Plan.

Virtual forums will be held at the following times via Zoom:

September 28th, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm  Click HERE to RSVP

September 28th, 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm   Click HERE to RSVP

Community members can also register at www.peoria2023.org
