The City of Waukegan Planning & Zoning Department is seeking input from the public regarding the accessibility of ravines, creeks, and rivers in the city. They are interested in understanding how easy it is for Waukegan residents to visit these natural areas for recreational purposes and relaxation. The survey aims to gather feedback on parks and other locations where individuals can spend time near the water.

To encourage participation, the city is offering a chance to win a $100 gift card to a local Waukegan business for those who complete the survey. The survey is available in both English and Spanish, and you can access it online.

For those who prefer a more personal approach, there will be an opportunity to take the survey in person at the Waukegan Public Library on Friday, February 2nd, from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm. City staff and Allie, the intern from the University of Illinois at Chicago, will be present to answer any questions and discuss experiences in the ravines, creeks, and rivers in Waukegan.

The city recognizes the importance of public input in shaping policies and initiatives related to these natural areas. By participating in the survey, residents can contribute their perspectives and help improve accessibility and enjoyment of the city's waterways.

In preparation for the survey, the City of Waukegan has released the following statement:

"We want to hear from you! Your feedback is crucial in ensuring that our ravines, creeks, and rivers are accessible and enjoyable for all Waukegan residents. By taking the survey, you have the opportunity to share your experiences and suggestions, helping us make informed decisions to enhance the recreational opportunities in our city."

The city hopes that the survey results will provide valuable insights to inform future planning and zoning decisions, ultimately benefiting the community as a whole.

Residents are encouraged to participate in this important survey, whether online or in person, to have their voices heard. By doing so, they will not only contribute towards the improvement of Waukegan's natural areas but also have a chance to win a $100 gift card to a local business.

So, mark your calendars for February 2nd and head to the Waukegan Public Library to share your thoughts and experiences. Let's work together to make Waukegan's ravines, creeks, and rivers more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
