According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 936 students during the year. This equates to 52 percent of the 1,814 students enrolled.
Students were expelled for 33 incidents with violence that caused physical injury, 54 incidents with violence without physical injury, 30 incidents with alcohol and tobacco, 66 incidents with drugs, two incidents witha dangerous weapon firearm,six incidents with a dangerous weapon, other than a firearm.
The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons, of which there were 547. There were 37 incidents of drug offense. For 510 incidents, students were suspended for one to two days.
Boy students received 632 suspensions, while 304 girls were suspended.
