FISCAL YEAR 2025 GOALS
1) Review City Code sections pertaining to Public Safety and pursue revisions as needed to promote a better quality of life for residents in West Peoria.
2) Monitor potential improvements in animal control.
3) Address nuisance properties.
4) Work with various entities to improve street lighting within the city.
5) Enact a “Slow Down West Peoria” campaign to slow down drivers.
6) Research all the aspects of what the Public Safety Committee is in charge of and work with fellow members of the committee and Council on potential improvements and innovations. 7) Continue working on the speed limit and signage issues.
8) Develop and survey residents about some of the issues – public involvement. 9) Community clean-up initiative:
a) Consider the placement of public garbage cans to help the public properly dispose of the garbage while walking.
b) Continue West Peoria Clean-up days and expand where needed.
