Due to forecasted high temperatures, the City of Peoria's recycling, yard waste, and trash collections will commence one hour earlier on Tuesday and Wednesday.
GFL Environmental Inc. (GFL) will start collections at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, and Wednesday, Aug. 28. This adjustment is currently limited to these two days, with regular collection times resuming on Thursday and Friday.
Residents are advised to set out their containers by 5 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday to ensure timely pickup.
To avoid missing a collection, recycling, yard waste, and trash containers should be placed out by 5 a.m. on the scheduled day. After pickup, residents are requested to move their containers from the curb or alley within 24 hours and place them in their garage or alongside their house or garage. Containers should not be left on the street or sidewalk.
