FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments in 2024 on September 26, 2024.
As a team at DeKalb Times, we are committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. In line with this commitment, we have sent a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140, to Dekalb County.
Our request specifically seeks a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024, till September 26, 2024. The requested information should include the vendor's name, transaction date, transaction description, and amount.
We believe that access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we consider ourselves eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
