Today in Peoria, Illinois, 18-year-old Daemion Cr. Moore was charged with aggravated battery following a shooting incident that took place on Monday morning. During the detention hearing held today, the court granted the State's Petition to Detain Moore, meaning he will remain in custody until his trial.

The incident occurred around 11 a.m. on Monday when police responded to a 14-round Shot Spotter alert in the 2900 block of W. Wiswall. Upon their arrival, they found an adult male who had sustained a gunshot wound to his foot. According to detectives, the victim stated that while he was waiting outside his home for a friend, two males in a gray vehicle drove by and shot at him.

Using Flock license plate readers and surveillance cameras, investigators were able to locate the suspect vehicle and identify Moore as being in possession of it at the time of the shooting. Preliminary tests indicated that shell casings found inside this vehicle matched those recovered from the scene of the shooting.

The investigation into this matter is still ongoing. Authorities urge anyone with information about this incident to contact the Peoria Police Department at 309-673-4521.
