Sidewalk work at key intersections on SW Adams Street is nearing completion as the first year of the OWTW Conversion Project comes to a close. The areas under construction include the northwest corner of Main Street and SW Adams Street, near 100 SW Adams Street, and the northeast corner of Harrison Street and SW Adams Street, near 335 SW Adams Street. The work is anticipated to be completed in the coming weeks.
The project aims to enhance pedestrian safety by upgrading intersection corners along major streets. Currently, lane and parking restrictions are in place along SW Adams Street but will be lifted as this year's work concludes.
The OWTW Conversion Project spans two and a half years. The initial phase concentrated on improvements along Adams Street, while next year's efforts will shift focus to Jefferson Avenue. A significant change with this project is converting one-way traffic to two-way traffic, scheduled for 2026.
