The City of Peoria is preparing for a new round of snowfall, expected to begin tonight around midnight and continue until noon tomorrow. The forecast predicts snow accumulations ranging from 1 to 3 inches during this period.

In anticipation of the snowfall, the Department of Public Works has applied liquid pretreatments to overpasses, bridges, and hills today. Overnight crews will be working to treat the city's primary streets and emergency snow routes as the snow begins to fall. Crews will maintain road treatments throughout Friday.

Given the timing and expected accumulation, roads on early Friday morning could be slick and partially covered with snow. Residents are advised to slow down, allow extra distance between vehicles, take additional time for travel, and exercise caution.
