On January 28, 2025, we at the Peoria Standard submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Princeville Cusd 326 School District. The request pertains to obtaining copies of all emails and memos from the past year that contain specific keywords.
The two key phrases specified in our request are "Lucy Calkins" and "Units of Study". As a news organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we believe it is crucial to gain access to these records. This information will aid us in fulfilling our professional responsibilities, which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
As members of the media, we play a vital role in gathering and reporting news to the public. We have requested these documents preferably in an electronic format for ease of dissemination. We also believe that we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.
