FOIA Request to Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission Regarding State Agency Contracts with Vendors on March 24, 2025.
As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at the Peoria Standard have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission. Our request seeks documentation and details concerning the fulfillment of contractual obligations for all contracts executed or modified between this state agency and their vendors during January of the 2023 fiscal year.
Specifically, we are requesting records that verify the scope of work performed, deliverables completed, and any reports or evaluations related to these contracts. This information is crucial for us as members of the media to hold public institutions accountable and ensure transparency in government operations.
In our pursuit of this information, we have requested a fee waiver based on our role in disseminating news to the public. Additionally, we are affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization dedicated to investigating state and federal governmental agencies through Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws. Our aim is to pull back the curtain on government actions and help inform the American electorate.
We await a response from the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission and will continue to update our readers as more information becomes available.
