The Peoria Sister Cities Commission is organizing the Peoria Sister Cities International Night on Friday, April 25, 2025. The event will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Itoo Hall on Farmington Road.

The evening is set to be a celebration of cultural diversity, featuring traditional entertainment and cuisine. Entry to the event is priced at $5.00 per person, with food tickets available for purchase at the door. Attendees will also have the chance to participate in two raffle drawings, adding an element of excitement to the night.

Entertainment for the event includes Irish dancers, German alpine horns, and a Lebanese belly dancer. Additionally, each Sister City Group will showcase traditional foods from their respective cities, offering guests a “taste of” experience.

The Friends of Friedrichshafen will serve Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle), Bavarian sauerkraut with apples and sausage, and Donauwellen Kuchen (Danube Waves Cake). For those interested in flavors from Benxi, vegetable spring rolls will be available.

The Friends of Clonmel will offer favorites such as corn beef sliders, shepherd’s pie, and Clonmel apple cake. Attendees can also enjoy a taste of Lebanese cuisine with offerings from the Friends of Aytou, including Lebanese salad, grape leaves, beef shish-ka-bob with pita bread, and baklava.

The evening promises to be a vibrant gathering showcasing the cultural ties and friendships among Peoria's sister cities through food and entertainment.
