Slurry Seal road projects are set to commence on Tuesday, May 13, affecting various streets across the city. The pavement improvements are expected to last for about one week, weather permitting.

Residents who will be directly impacted by the road work will receive notification through a door hanger 24 to 48 hours before the work begins. They will be required to remove all vehicles parked on the street, as no parking areas will be enforced until the completion of the work and removal of signs.

Temporary no parking and other traffic signs will be placed on selected streets. Residents may need to find alternative off-street parking options during this period.

Access to driveways may be limited for three hours while the process is underway. The work will involve both sides of the road, necessitating full road closures for several hours. Emergency vehicles, however, will have access at all times.

The work is scheduled between 8 am and 4:30 pm each day. If rain occurs, the project will be postponed to the next dry day. No work is planned for Saturdays or Sundays.

The Slurry Seal process involves a mixture of polymer-modified asphalt emulsion, mineral filler, water, and aggregate designed to protect and extend the lifespan of pavement surfaces.

This initiative is part of the department's annual pavement preservation program. "The City appreciates the public’s patience while these roadway treatments are applied to extend the life of the pavement."
