Peoria County Associate Judge Tim Cusack brings more than two decades of professional experience to the campaign trail in his quest to become resident circuit judge of Peoria County.
Cusack, a Republican, will be running against Democratic candidate Jodi Hoos in November's general election.

The Tenth Judicial Circuit judges selected Cusack as an associate judge in 2013. At the time, he was affiliated with the Peoria County Public Defender's office. In the 2015 Judicial Advisory poll, he was rated at an overall 98 percent for his abilities as a judge, including his integrity, impartiality and sensitivity to diversity and bias.
Cusack is a lifelong resident of Peoria and started his legal career with the Peoria County State's Attorney's office after graduating from Marquette University in 1984 and receiving his Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University in 1989.
Cusack left the State's Attorney's office and practiced law for 22 years in a variety of courtrooms, ranging from criminal litigation to family law to workers' compensation cases. He began teaching criminal law, paralegal and other legal courses at Illinois Central College (ICC) in 2005 as an adjunct professor.
Cusack and his wife, Anne Madigan Cusack, live in Peoria with their seven children.
