Peoria County Board for the Care and Treatment of Persons with a Developmental Disability meets prospective board member

The Peoria County Board for the Care and Treatment of Persons with a Developmental Disability met, May 24.

Here are the meeting minutes as provided by Peoria County:

Members Present: Greg Chance, Todd Baker, Alyssa Herman

Members Absent: Joyce Harant, Bob Baietto

Others Present: Kristin Grubb, Peoria City/County Health Department, Brian Gulley, Peoria City/County Health Department, Shannon Moberg and Patti Gratton, Community Workshop & Training Center, Jim Runyon, Easter Seals

Meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m. by Mr. Chance, who stated a quorum of Care & Treatment Board members was present.

A motion was made by Ms. Herman to approve the meeting minutes of March 29, 2016.

Motion was seconded by Mr. Baker. Motion carried (3, 0).

In the next item of business, Mr. Gulley reviewed the fiscal report. Mr. Chance asked Mr. Gulley to look into whether the projected CCPRT amount for 2016 should be adjusted. A motion was made by Mr. Baker to approve the fiscal report. Motion was seconded by Ms. Herman. Motion carried (3, 0).

In the next item of business, Mr. Chance stated that a guest interested in appointment to the Board was present. Mr. Baker introduced Shannon Moberg, whose child is a consumer of services at CWTC. Ms. Moberg stated that she looks forward to serving on the Board if appointed. Mr. Chance stated that Ms. Moberg’s application has been sent to Peoria County and he or Mr. Baker will keep her updated regarding its status.

Mr. Chance stated that, at the last meeting, a potential strategy to adjust the 2017 grant timeframe was discussed. Mr. Baker stated that he would prefer Ms. Harant be present when action is taken regarding this issue; therefore, this item was deferred until the July 13th meeting.

There were no public comments.

Mr. Chance stated that, as the Autism Trust Fund has been set aside from the Care & Treatment Board, he prefers any questions related to the Fund be asked outside the context of Care & Treatment Board meetings. He added that he is aware of emails being sent regarding the status of the Fund and that the Autism Trust Fund Trustees hope to hold a meeting in June. At that meeting, the Trustees will attempt to set direction for the Fund as well as consider an emergency funding request from an agency in community.

Being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 2:13 pm.
