The Peoria County Courthouse will remain open on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. However, some offices inside the courthouse will be closed in observance of Veterans Day.
According to county officials, "The 10th Judicial Circuit Courts will not be in session, but Peoria County Court Administration will still be open. The Peoria County Probation Office will also be closed. All regular hours will resume on Wednesday, November 12."
Other offices and departments not mentioned are expected to operate with normal business hours on Wednesday. Residents can find a complete list of county holidays at https://www.peoriacounty.gov/274.
In other local news, Peoria County schools had an average student-to-teacher ratio of 15-to-1 during the 2022-23 school year, with 27,081 students and 1,844 full-time faculty members across its schools (https://www.isbe.net/Pages/Home.aspx). Teacher absenteeism was recorded at 32.3% for the same period in Peoria County schools, which is lower than the Illinois state average of 35.6% (https://www.isbe.net/Pages/Home.aspx).
Among the county's schools, Dunlap High School had the highest enrollment of white students with a total of 873; Richwoods High School led in multiracial student enrollment with 182; Lincoln School had the highest number of Hispanic students at 218; and Peoria High School recorded the largest Black student enrollment at 798 (https://www.isbe.net/Pages/Home.aspx).
