Illinois students have less than two weeks to apply for one of more than 100 college scholarships from the Illinois Sheriffs’ Association, Peoria County reported recently.
One $500 scholarship will go to a Peoria County student.
Applications for the scholarships -- which are meant to help pay for tuition, fees and books -- must be turned in or mailed by March 15.
Qualification requirements are listed on the applications, which are available at the administration office of the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office, 301 North Maxwell Road, and at the Peoria County Courthouse, Room B-20. They can also be downloaded from www.ilsheriff.org.
A committee selected by Sheriff Michael McCoy will review the applications and choose a winner and two alternates from Peoria County.

All applicants will receive a status notification by May 1.
