Bellevue ranked 481st in state in lottery ticket sales

The village of Bellevue had the 481th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of July 2016 -- up 40 spots from its June ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Bellevue was $18.29 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the Peoria Standard, Bellevue generated $35,742 in net sales from its one lottery retailer in July 2016, compared to $42,432 in July 2015.


The village of Bellevue is in Peoria County, and has a population of 1,954, according to 2010 census data. Neighboring municipalities are Peoria, Norwood, Bartonville and West Peoria.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in July 2016 was $21,594.70.

Caseys Gen Store #2556 generated 100 percent of Bellevue's July 2016 lottery ticket sales and 2 percent of Peoria County's sales that month, which was $2,504,986.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in Peoria County in 2015 were Mapleton, Dunlap, Bartonville, Hanna City and Brimfield.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
