The price of local government: City of Herrin

The City of Herrin budget was $8.18 million for its 2015 fiscal year, or $1,542.97 per household.

That's an increase of 5.9 percent from 2014, when the city spent $7.72 million, or $1,456.52 per household.

Herrin has 5,300 households and a population of 12,501.
