The Village of Manhattan budget was $11.59 million for its 2015 fiscal year, or $3,229.04 per household.

That's an increase of 45.4 percent from 2014, when the village spent $7.97 million, or $2,220.98 per household.

Manhattan has 3,588 households and a population of 7,500.

Since 2001, the Village of Manhattan budget has fallen by 43.7 percent, from $20.59 million. The village population has grown 139.2 percent over the same period, from 3,136.

Salaries accounted for 15.7 percent of village spending in 2015. Manhattan property taxpayers paid $1.81 million for 26 full-time employees and 15 part-time employees.

In 2001, the village had 14 full-time employees and 23 part-time employees, and spent $565,512.71.
