Analysis: East Peoria pays $4.54 for every $1 pensioners contribute to East Peoria Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 81.9 percent of the $1,871,515 the East Peoria Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.54 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, East Peoria contributed $1,533,659 to the fund, which saw a $150,278 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $337,628, or 18 percent, in 2016. Another $228 came from other unspecified sources.
