City of Lexington recently issued the following announcement on May 1.
The City's Information Technologies and Electric Departments are working together to improve the City's free outdoor WiFi. The improvements involve replacing old access points throughout Uptown. While the updates are being made, WiFi service will be unavailable from Monday, May 7th - Friday, May 11.
Free City WiFi stretches for more than 12 blocks in Uptown Lexington, spanning from 3rd Street on North Main to 3rd Avenue on South Main; reaches east running along Salisbury Street; and reaches west running along State Street with a slightly broader reach on West Center Street. Your patience is appreciated while the updates are being made. The free outdoor WiFi was activated in 2012.
