Buckheart Fire Protection District responded to 27 calls in 2017 - 42.1 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Buckheart included 25 fires - 11 structure fires, two vehicle fires and 12 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $349,100 in fire loss - or about $13,964 per fire.

The department also received one false call.

The Buckheart Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $273,593 in 2017.
