Cuba Fire Protection District responded to 53 calls in 2017 - 10.4 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Cuba included 46 fires - 18 structure fires, three vehicle fires and 25 other fires.

In all, the department saw $101,500 in fire loss - or about $2,207 per fire.

The department also received seven false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related death.

The Cuba Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $135,969 in 2017.
