Lewistown Fire Protection District responded to 49 calls in 2017 - 6.5 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Lewistown included 22 fires - seven structure fires, one vehicle fire and 14 other fires.

In all, the department saw $146,500 in fire loss - or about $6,659 per fire.

The department also received 27 false calls, including six malicious calls and 21 other false calls.

The Lewistown Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $168,346 in 2017.
