Approval Of Minutes –

1. Approve the minutes from the Regular City Council Meeting held May 22nd, 2018.

2. Approve the minutes from the Special City Council Meeting held May 25th, 2018.

3. Approve the minutes from the Regular City Council Meeting held June 5th, 2018.

Treasurer’s Report – None

Finance Report -

Mayor’s Report –

1. The American Duchess Riverboat dockings here in Havana will be Thursday, August 17th and Friday, August 23rd. There will be two committee meetings held with the Riverside Restoration, Chamber of Commerce, the Havana Park District and any local business owners wishing to attend to help plan events for this event.

2. Requesting a motion to approve the appointment of Cole McDaniel as City Treasurer effective June 20th, 2018. Cole is a graduate of ISU with an accounting major, is President of our local Jaycees, works as a sales specialist with American Family Insurance and the Havana Park District as a Recreation Supervisor.

Committee Reports:

Finance & Purchasing –

1. Approve payment to Sunrise FS in the amount of $1,400.49 for Real Estate Tax Cost Eligible Expenses for 2016 taxes paid in 2017 for Country Plaza per their TIF I Agreement with the City of Havana.

2. Approve payment to Sunrise FS in the amount of $26,157.60 for Real Estate Tax Cost Eligible Expenses for 2016 taxes paid in 2017 for the Route 78/Illinois River TIF II Project per their TIF II Agreement with the City of Havana.

3. Approve payment to Frank Hofreiter for 2017 taxes paid in 2018 in the amount of $12,467.77 for Real Estate Tax Cost Eligible Expenses per his TIF II Agreement with the City of Havana.

4. Approve loan to David Howard in the amount of $48,000 to purchase the properties located at 200 – 204 West Main.

Health & Sanitation –

Licenses, Ordinances & Legal –

1.First Reading of Ordinance # 1419, an Ordinance amending Chapter 5.24 of the Ordinance Code of the City of Havana, Mason County, State of Illinois or vote to waive the First Reading and consider final action on such Ordinance pursuant to Havana City Code Section 2.08.115.

Personnel –

1. Vote to approve the hiring of Sarah Linder as a Full-Time Police Officer for the Havana Police Department.

Planning –

Property & Zoning –

Public Safety –

1.Approve a request by Havana Oktoberfest Committee to close the 100 blocks of West Main, North Plum, West Market and the South bound side of North Broadway from September 4 th through September 10 th for the Annual Oktoberfest Celebration.

1.Approve a request by Jenny Roskelley to use the City Streets for her 6th Annual Havana Firecracker 5k to benefit St. Jude on July 4th, 2018. Sign-up will begin at 7:30 a.m, race beginning at 8:30 a.m. The route will be start at the intersection of Main and Plum, proceed one block and turn left on West Market, turn right on Schrader and follow Schrader around to Broadway. Turn right onto North Broadway and go straight to Main, go around boulevard and head North on North Broadway and do the described route in reverse.
