Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on July 3.
Pekin Public Library invites teens to come in and check out the Team Domain! This space is just for teens, open exclusively to 7th-12th graders!
Thursday, July 5 and August 2: Teen Anime Club, 6:00pm. Teen Anime and manga fans can share interests, ideas, learn about the new graphic novels at the library, and enjoy anime-related activities.
Thursday, July 12: Tie Dye T-Shirts for Teens, 5:00pm. Create a tie dye t-shirt in the community garden. Must register at www.pekinpubliclibrary.org with your t-shirt size.
Thursday, July 19 and August 16: Poetry Slam, 6:00pm. Teens! The mic is yours! Share your original poetry, songs or creative writing during this laid back teen program.
Thursday, August 9: Salvaged Sculptures Contest, 6:00pm. Join our friendly competition of creating sculptures with found materials. All supplies provided, but teen can bring more if they choose. Please register at: www.pekinpubliclibrary.org.
