A Motion was made by Commissioner Gossett seconded by Commissioner Norton to accept the Budget. All Ayes, motion carried.

Training certificates: None

Old Business

Probationary Employees: No report.

Testing Cycles: With the Fire Initial list expiring in September, the process to create a new list will begin. Carol will map out a timeline for advertising and packet distribution, and contact the commissioners for dates to hold the orientation and written exam, and then the rest of the process.

New Business : The commission discussed the scheduled exams for the current firefighter candidate, being a polygraph and the psychological exam. The two firefighters in attendance urged the commissioners to act as quickly as possible to get a candidate through the testing and in position to hire. Commissioner Norton noted that while she can appreciate their urgency, she is also cautious to follow protocol as the commission has been burned before, and they want to follow the usual procedure to be consistent and diligent in their process. Carol will go ahead and make a tentative appointment for a physical after the psychological exam.

The two firefighters also brought to attention the need to move ahead with the related promotions. They explained the process for firefighters currently filling temporary duties and the costs related, and that there was no need to hold off on making the promotions if the new initial was not ready for hire yet – the two actions do not have to be done simultaneously.

Commissioner Norton and Gossett agreed that they would feel more comfortable discussing with Commissioner Mayall before making any decisions. They will do so before the next regular F&P meeting in July.

Having no other business, a Motion was made by Commissioner Norton seconded by

Commissioner Gossett to adjourn the meeting. All Ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 1:23 p.m.
