The ranking Illinois Senate Republican recently blasted Democratic gubernatorial candidate J.B. Pritzker over his willingness to raise taxes.
"I don't even think Pat Quinn or Rod Blagojevich would have the gumption to talk about forcing a tax increase on the backs of Illinois families and businesses," Minority Leader Sen. Bill Brady (R-Bloomington) said during a press conference with other state Republican lawmakers. "We already have one of the highest property taxes in the nation — if not the highest — as J.B. Pritzker knows very well. It's time to reduce the tax burden on families and businesses."
Brady, who has represented the 44th District since May 2002 has been the Senate's ranking minority leader for about a year, following the resignation of Christine Radogno (R-Lemont) last summer. Brady was unopposed during the March Republican primary for re-election to his State Senate seat and is running unopposed in November's general election.
