Retiremnt

Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Aug. 23.

Randy Davies, President and CEO of the Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce, has announced his retirement from that position at the end of 2018.

“I am so grateful for the opportunity given to me and my family to serve this community, not only through this position, but through the many boards and organizations we have been associated with,” he said. “When I was appointed to this role, I affirmed to the board a five-year commitment to work as hard as I could to build a team of qualified professionals who were experts in their duties and well respected in their jobs. We have that team of professionals and I’m proud of the work we have done together to grow this organization and help our businesses and community become a better place to live, work, and play.”

During his term, the chamber has grown in membership by more than 175 new investors. New programs also have been started including a new young professionals network, healthcare professionals network, community vision team, and expanded opportunities for networking. Davies also was instrumental in the creation of the city’s Outdoor Refreshment Area legislation and establishing a new downtown partnership with business owners, “Discover Downtown Chillicothe”. Through his leadership he helped to develop a team of chamber professionals who work closely with area business and industry leaders through new and expanded programs for women in business, workforce development, and social media training.

While leading the chamber, Davies served on boards and executive committees for the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Ohio, Ross Chillicothe Convention and Visitors Bureau, Ohio Penal Industries Enterprise Development, Pickaway-Ross Career and Technology Center, Ohio Valley Regional Development Center, OSU Small Business Development Center, Child Protection Center of Ross County, and Adena Health System Foundation.

Davies began his role as President and CEO in January 2014. He and his wife, Kristi, will be relocating along the Carolina shores.

The chamber’s Executive Committee is currently working on his replacement.
