City of Chillicothe Economic Development Committee met Jan. 9.
Here is the minutes provided by the committee:
Present: Chairman Dan Colwell, Aldermen Connor, Alderman Jenkins, Mayor White and Economic Development Director Parker
Meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. Chairman Colwell asked for the budget report. Director Parker stated that majority of the line items had the same balance as the December meeting. One notable change was a couple of payouts on the façade programs. Overall we are working within the budget.
FAÇADE GRANT –
Fun and fitness center is requesting a façade grant to reface the front of their building located at 939 N 2nd Street. Rotting wood from roof leakage had damaged the face of the building. They will also have new signage. Request was recommended for approval at full council meeting on January 14, 2019. With this approval the façade program balance will be $13, 092.
OLD BUSINESS:
Overland Group: Plans are in. Once they get their building permit ground breaking could start as early as February. They will be on the Feb. 5th Plan commission agenda.
616 4th/Street Video Billboard Update:
Mayor went over timeline of how this project will proceed with CEFCU relocating the ATM at this site. CEFCU will be announcing the closure of the current ATM during the construction phase. No specific time on when the project will be complete at this time.
4th Street Corridor Study Update: Meeting was held earlier on this day with TCRPC and representative from Plan Commission in regards to ordinances for 4th Street. There will be some updates made to the ordinances and some new ones to go into effect. More detailed information will be shared as it proceeds.
TIF Plan Update: There is a Joint Review Board Meeting scheduled for Monday January 14th prior to the full council meeting. This is basically approval from all taxing bodies the TIF Plan.
M & T Update: Meeting was held prior to this meeting no action items to report.
