Report: Monroe spent $8,103 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Monroe School District 70 is up 7.3 percent from five years ago, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Peoria County school district spent $7,552 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,103 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 316 to 289.

Monroe's spending in 2017-18 was 39.2 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
