Chillicothe Chamber Of Commerce issued the following announcement on Feb. 18.

Wage: $9.50-$12.00/Hr (Max 950 hours year)

Purpose:

The Seasonal Maintenance Laborer performs daily care and maintenance of Chillicothe Park District grounds and facilities, and any additional duties as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor.

Duties:

1. Prepares for the daily park participants by cleaning and maintaining public areas, pick-up trash and providing a pleasant environment.

2. Provides regular daily cleaning of restrooms and park facilities as assigned. Restocks restrooms to provide a fully stocked facility for visitors and performs any custodial maintenance needed.

3. Performs regular cleaning and safety evaluations of all playground areas.

4. Performs scheduled outdoor maintenance tasks as assigned.

5. Assist with construction projects, remodels, and other special projects.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma (in-process or completed) or equivalent

2. Maintenance, carpentry, electrical or other skilled trade experience preferred

3. Demonstrated ability to read and understand Park District policies and procedures, written instructions, and drawings

4. Demonstrated ability to operate equipment such as floor scrubbers and buffers, powered blowers, weed eaters, chainsaws, and other maintenance equipment.

5. Valid Illinois driver's license and pass a criminal background check

6. Position requires frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting (50 lbs); the ability to work in variable weather conditions and works a variety of shifts including some weekends.
