Unpaid fines for Belvidere-based campaign committee totaled $26,875 in August 2018

One campaign committee in Belvidere has overdue fines amounting to a total of $26,875, records obtained by the Peoria Standard show.

A detailed review of individual fines revealed that Boone County Young Republicans Club was the only campaign committee in Belvidere that was delinquent in payment for August 2018, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

The committee has been fined for a late quarterly report and failure to comply.
