Glasford Road soil boring project to cause lane closures beginning November 10

Soil boring work is set to begin on Glasford Road between US Route 24 and Main Street starting Monday, November 10. The project will require lane closures each day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for an expected duration of two weeks.

Motorists are advised to use caution in the area, follow instructions from flaggers on site, and avoid the work zone if possible. "Motorists are urged to use caution in the work zone, follow directions of the on-site flaggers, and avoid the area when possible."

Peoria County schools serve a student population with an average student-to-teacher ratio of 15-to-1 as of the 2022-23 school year, according to state education data (https://www.isbe.net/Pages/Home.aspx). Teacher absenteeism was recorded at 32.3% during that period, which is below the Illinois average of 35.6%. Among local schools, Dunlap High School had the highest enrollment of white students with 873; Richwoods High School reported the largest number of multiracial students at 182; Lincoln School enrolled the most Hispanic students with 218; and Peoria High School had the highest number of Black students at 798 (https://www.isbe.net/Pages/Home.aspx).
