Unpaid fines for Peoria-based campaign committees totaled $38,775 in August 2018

Campaign committees in Peoria collectively owe a total of $38,775 in fines, according to records obtained from the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE).

A detailed review of individual fines revealed that five committees in Peoria were delinquent in payment for August 2018.

The Peoria-based committee with the largest total in unpaid fines was Peoria County Progressives, which owes a total of $15,000.

The committee has been fined repeatedly for a late quarterly report.
