City of Eureka City Council met July 3.

The Eureka City Council convened in regular session at the City Building on June 3, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Scott Zimmer called the meeting to order and after a moment of silence led The Pledge of Allegiance and then directed the City Clerk to call the roll. Present were Aldermen Getz, Prather, Germann, Chambliss, Hinnen, Teegarden, and L. Klaus. Aldermen Peterson was absent. Also in attendance were Lynn Hinnen, Treasurer; Marilyn Walter, City Clerk; Melissa Brown, City Administrator; Rusty Klaus, Director of Public Works; Sergeant Kim Jones and Chief Alex Collinge.
Moved by Hinnen, second by Prather, to approve the minutes of the May 20, 2019, regular meeting of the City Council. Passed on roll call vote with Hinnen, Prather, Germann, Chambliss, Teegarden, and L. Klaus all voting Aye.
Moved by Teegarden, second by Hinnen, to approve the minutes of the committee meetings for the month of April, 2019. Passed on roll call vote with Teegarden, Hinnen, Prather, Germann, Chambliss, and L. Klaus all voting Aye.
The Mayor asked for public comments on any action to be taken on Agenda items. There were none.
Moved by Prather, second by Germann, to approve and pay the bills as the City’s obligation in the amount of $96,434.34. Passed on roll call vote with Prather, Germann, Chambliss, Hinnen, Teegarden, and L. Klaus all voting Aye.
Moved by Hinnen, second by Prather, to approve the bid from Hoerr Construction Inc. for the sanitary sewer lining project in the amount of $69,708.00. Passed on roll call vote with Hinnen, Prather, Germann, Chambliss, Teegarden, and L. Klaus all voting Aye.
Committee Reports:
Chairman Prather of the Budget Committee:
Chairman Getz of the Administration and Personnel Committee: Absent
Chairman Hinnen of the Enterprise Committee: The committee met tonight. The storm water project numbers are going to be obtained.
Chairman Hinnen of the Maintenance Committee: Brush pickup was today.
Chairman L. Klaus of the Public Safety Committee: Eric Lind reported ESDA people have been busy spotting storms late at night this past month or so. June 15 is the fire arms qualification training for the City police.
Chairman Germann of the Park and Recreation Committee: Rusty reported that the ball diamonds are still not open. It is much too wet.
Chairman Teegarden of the Economic Development Committee: No report Chairman Mayor Zimmer of the Liquor Committee: No report
New Business: Melissa showed the Council members the rendering of the new City Hall. Fourth of July is coming soon. Information will be sent out soon to get volunteers.

There being no further business to come before the Council the meeting adjourned at 7:44 p.m.
